British sports car unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961 and built in Coventry until 1975. Its long bonnet, sensuous curves and claimed top speed of 150 miles per hour caused a sensation, at a fraction of Italian rivals' prices. Shaped by aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, who had drawn the company's Le Mans winners, it came as roadster or coupé. A roadster belongs to New York's Museum of Modern Art.
