Steeplechase run each April at Aintree Racecourse…
Steeplechase run each April at Aintree Racecourse, near Liverpool, since 1839. A large field of horses covers more than four miles, jumping thirty fences over two circuits, including notorious obstacles such as Becher's Brook, The Chair and the Canal Turn. Red Rum is the only horse to have won it three times, in 1973, 1974 and 1977. Its unpredictable outcome makes it popular with casual punters across Britain and Ireland.
