Trophy awarded annually to the playoff champions of the National Hockey League, and North America's oldest professional sports trophy. Donated in 1892 by a British governor general of Canada, it was first presented in 1893. Unlike most prizes, it is not remade each year: winning players have their names engraved on its silver bands, and each spends a day with it. The Montreal Canadiens have won it the most times.
